Rest in Peace Chad Everett
When I was a kid, there were two great TV docs: Marcus Welby and Joe Gannon.
Welby was like your grandfather and Gannon was the one you somehow had a crush on even before you knew you were gay.
Gannon was played by Chad Everett on the long-running drama Medical Center.
Sadly, Everett died today of lung cancer at the age of 75.
I featured the handsome actor as a Morning Man Classic last year.
After Medical Series ended its seven year run on 1976, Chad starred in the miniseries Centennial and starred in the short-lived series McKenna and Hagen and had recurring roles on Murder, She Wrote and Melrose Place.
More recently, Chad guest-starred in an episode of Castle and on the terrific but now canceled CBS series Cold Case. It was the memorable 2006 episode Forever Blue. and he portrayed a closeted gay police officer.

Yep!…he was hot remembering ‘Medical Center’ as a kid. He had a face that was kind of Clark Cable like but with out the mustache, even his voice was similar plus he was a republican like Gable…damn you can’t have everything!

R.I.P. Chad Everett

Chad was such a gorgeous man…even in his later years. Sad to lose so many great celebrities lately. I will miss Chad and Sherman very much.

What I remember about him, primarily, is Lily Tomlin walking off the set of the Tonight Show in protest of Everett’s nauseating and snide remarks about his wife, and women in general. She was the first guest, and walked off midway through Everett’s rant, as he & Johnny Carson guffawed over his ‘hilarious’ remarks. They then continued to sneer at Tomlin after she had left.
