I completely agree with President Trump’s decision. The military is not an appropriate venue to deal with gender confusion and mental health issues (i.e. transexualism). The military needs to be a cohesive killing unit with the purpose of destroying an enemy to defend the country. It is not a self-help group so that gender confused individuals can have their hormones and various surgeries performed on the militaries dime and time. If you are gay and you wish to serve in the military – that is fine. Once the tour is complete, then go explore your transexualism – but not on military time.

And finally when it comes to cost, we spend 5-10 times more on viagra than we would on hormones etc. These men and women lay their LIVES on the line for us, including people like you.

Anyone with even a scintilla of intelligence can see this. FAEN – My post was not intended to argue the various merits on the controversial decision to ban transgender people from the U.S. military, since the decision has already been made. I was merely stating my support of this decision despite its unpopularity. I can only assume that those openly serving trangender members will be honorably discharged from active service. I personally think that the military is not an appropriate institution for transgender people and it has nothing to do with the various medical costs. I agree with you that homosexuality, like heterosexuality, is a natural biological state of being, while I do not extend the definition of homosexuality to include transgenderism. Unfortunately, I am limited on my ability to eleborate on my views in this forum, as I have learned that Greg will sensor any opinions that waiver far from his own or those of his readers. However, in America, even a minority opinion has a right to be heard.

At the end of the day this isn’t about money or unit cohesion, this is about Trump needing the likes of Tony Perkins et al so he’s decided to ban men and women ALREADY serving with no issues from the military. Does it make sense to throw them out after all the money and time invested in them? Does it make sense to throw out members of our brave military who have VOLUNTEERED? To paraphrase Tammy Duckworth-you don’t care about gender, orientation, skin color or religious affiliation when you’re hurt and need saving.
Trans Americans are like everyone else and they deserve to be treated equally under the law, with respect and dignity.
I’ll end on irony-gender, orientation, race is not a choice but you know what is? Religion.

@Rye-BTW, just because Trump tweeted his ban on trans troops that doesn’t make it law and the decision isn’t final. It has to go through the proper channels as the Joint Chiefs of Staff rightly pointed out. This WILL go to court and IMHO the administration will lose. There is no credible reason trans Americans should be banned from serving just religious animus.

What we do have in common and what all LGBTQ people should have in common is the will to band together in unity against the likes of Trump, Pence, Tony Perkins and his kind and push for progress, equality and justice for all.
