Raven-Symoné claims to ignore her many critics
Since joining ABC’s The View as a co-host earlier this year, Raven-Symoné has infuriated plenty of viewers with some of her comments.
Even her own father spoke out publicly when she said if she were an employer looking to make a hire, she would not consider any names that sounded too ethnic like ‘Watermelondrea.’
But the former star of TV’s That’s So Raven insists she’s not letting any of it get her down.
‘I’m in a job where it’s about opinions and it’s about my opinion on certain things and so everyone gets scrutinized for their opinion even though we live in America and we’re supposed to have free speech,” she told E! News at her 30th birthday party celebration this week.
‘I think that the best way that I can handle it is say my piece, stand behind my truth and move on myself.’
She also ignores a lot of the backlash.
‘I don’t read comments when they’re negative and nasty,’ she says.
But one comment she was made aware of was made by actress-reality show star NeNe Leakes who said she was not treated well when she was a guest on The View and indicated that Raven was part of the problem.
Raven replies: ‘I feel sad for her. She came to my house party. I don’t understand what happened, but that’s her right if she felt that way. Just like our opinion, that’s her opinion. Sorry, girl. My bad.’
