Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray hug it out after match
Wimbledon has not had a men’s champion from Great Britain since 1937 and won’t have one again this year.
Andy Murray of Scotland lost his semifinal match earlier today to 2008 Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal 6-4, 7-6 (6), 6-4.
Andy had the hopes of an entire nation riding on his shoulders but he has no reason to hang his head. The 23-year-old played extremely well but at a few crucial points in the match, Nadal was simply better. They played a high-quality contest that was thoroughly enjoyable to watch.
And after it was over, it was so sweet the way Rafa gave Andy a little hug and consoled him. That sure woulda made ME feel a lot better!
Nadal, seeking his eighth career grand slam title, will play Tomas Berdych for the title on Sunday. Berdych beat third-ranked Novak Djokovic in the other semifinals after defeating my beloved Roger Federer a round earlier.
