“Queer Eye For the Straight Guy” alum Carson Kressley once dated retired NFL player Esera Tuaolo

Carson Kressley, currently a judge on the new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, has revealed that he was once romantically involved with an NFL player.

Kressley wasn’t outing anyone when he shared the news with TMZ on Monday since the man he dated was Esera Tuaolo who came out publicly after his retirement in 1999.

Tuaolo, now 47, played defensive tackle in the NFL for nine years.

He kept his sexuality a secret during his playing days as has every other player in NFL history except for Michael Sam who came out prior to being drafted by the St. Louis Rams.

Sam was cut by The Rams before the start of the regular season.

Tualo played for the Atlanta Falcons, the Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers during his career.

Kressley gained fame as one of the five main cast members of the Emmy winning reality series Queer Eye For the Straight Guy which aired for five seasons on Bravo before the network became home to umpteenth Real Housewives franchises..

He is participating in the new season of NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice – the first season without Donald Trump.

Kressley says he and Tualo remain friends.
