Protest planned at tonight’s Buju Banton concert at Cabana Club in Hollywood

Reggae singer Buji Banton (real name: Mark Anthony Myrie) promotes violence against and the murder of LGBT people in his song Boom Bye Bye and he is unrepentant and unapologetic about that.

With all of the gay bashings and murders being reported around the country – right now – this is unconcsionable. and completely unacceptable.

But apparently not to the owners/operators of the Cabana Club in Hollywood who have quietly booked the controversial musician for a concert tonight.

The Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center has been successful in getting previous local gigs cancelled and is organizing a peaceful protest at Cabana Club tonight.

Where: Cabana Club, 1439 Ivar Ave, Hollywood (just below Sunset Blvd.)
When: 8:30 p.m.
Bring your signs and show your solidarity with activists around the country – especially in Jamaica, where prominent LGBT activists have been murdered – against musicians who glorify the murder of LGBT people.
