Prop. 8 ruling: Reaction from Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger

http://images.askmen.com/galleries/model/arnold-schwarzenegger/pictures/arnold-schwarzenegger-picture-1.jpgI find California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger such a disappointment in so many ways. He swept into office as this breath of fresh air and will leave as just another soulless politician with our state in even worse shambles.

Economics aside, the governor leaves me bitter over his twice refusing to sign gay marriage into law as well as refusing ti sign a bill for a Harvey Milk Day. I know he’s a Republican but I expect anyone married to Maria Shriver to have more of a heart and to have some political guts.

Anyway, here is the governor’s statement on the Supreme Court’s decision today to uphold Proposition 8 which bans same-sex marriage in the state:

“While I believe that one day either the people or courts will recognize gay marriage, as governor of California I will uphold the decision of the California Supreme Court. Regarding the 18,000 marriages that took place prior to Proposition 8’s passage, the court made the right decision in keeping them intact. I also want to encourage all those responding to today’s court decision to do so peacefully and lawfully.”

Thanks Arnold.

We’ll be baaaaaaaaaaack!

One Remark

  1. Arnie should have spent his time working on the budget mess rather than releasing that worthless statement. He had the opportunity to do the right thing and he vetoed, not once, but twice, same sex marriage. What a waste of hot air!
