Time to vote for Project Pushback video

You have until June 15 to watch and vote for your favorite short videos promoting the freedom to marry for same-sex couples. In all, 68 videos have been entered into Project Pushback, a competition organized by the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center of New York City.

The goal of the contest is to tap into the grassroots energy of marriage equality supporters and to inspire development of video messages that will effectively promote support for the freedom to marry.

Voting began on Tuesday (sorry, I’m a day late with this!) and you can view and vote by going to www.equalityvideo.org. Here’s some extra incentive: you can enter a free drawing for a $1,000 digital camera.

It might not be an Oscar win but the winner of the popular vote will receive $1,000. A panel of industry experts will choose the grand prize winner who receives $2,500.The  panel of judges includes Academy Award-winning Producer Bruce Cohen, MTV producer Sherri Brown Francois, political and communications strategist Chad Griffin, Google vice president Megan Smith and Current TV producer Tracey Chang.
