Power Up Award recipients include Greg In Hwood!
Today the recipients of the 12th annual Power Up Amazing Gay Women and Men in Showbiz Awards were announced.
The awards recognize ‘amazing gay women and men who are working, creating and changing lives as they continue their way up the ladder of success.’
Ten women and 10 men have been chosen for these awards and it just happens that I am one of them.
Pretty darn cool!
Below are are the full list of honorees:
THE WOMEN: Michele Abbott – Co-Creator of The L Word, Commercial Producer; Kacy Boccamini – of the Real L Word, Director Sony Pictures Home Ent. Digital Client Operations; Miriam Cutler – Emmy nominated Composer; Sheila Di Marco – Owner, Commercial Talent Agency; Sophie B Hawkins – Artist, Grammy nominated Singer/Songwriter; Tristian Higgens – Director of Legal at Sony Electronics; Aynee Osborn – Sound Supervisor, Hawaii Five-0; Lynn McCracken – Director, 8 Simple Rules, Hope & Faith; Lucy Mukerjee – Vice President of Production and Development at After Dark Films; Coley Sohn – Director, Sassy Pants released theatrically in November 2012.
THE MEN: Howard Cohen – Co-President Roadside Attractions; Eric d’Arbeloff – Co-President Roadside Attractions; Jim Dobson – Publicist, President, INDIE PR; Gary Goldstein – Writer, Co-Chair WGA’s Gay & Lesbian Writers Committee; Greg Hernandez – Editor in Chief Greg In Hollywood, former staff writer LA Times, THR; Dan Ireland – Producer, Director, Jolene, The Whole Wide World; Larry Kennar – Producer, 50 First Dates, Barbershop; Jamie Mandelbaum – Lawyer, Jackoway, Tyerman, Wertheimer, Austen, Mandelbaum, Morris and Klein; Christopher Racster – Producer, Director of Individual Giving for Outfest; Guy Shalem – Emmy nominated Writer, Director, Love Spring International.
We will receive the award at an event on Nov. 4 in Hollywood.
Past Awardees include: Lance Bass, Dan Bucatinsky, Barbara Gaines, Gus Van Sant, Howard Rosenman, Cherien Dabis, Paris Barclay, Jamie Babbit, Wendy Battles, Ilene Chaiken, Jane Lynch, Cherry Jones, Rose Troche, and Guinevere Turner.

P.S. If you can convince Cheyenne Jackson to adopt me, I think there is an award that Ripley’s Believe It Or Not gives out for doing something impossible. You are my last hope, so please don’t let me down…
