Peter Paige to run ABC’s “Station 19″ with Zoanne Clack: “I’m beyond honored to be handed the reins”

Just read on TV Line that Peter Paige has landed a sweet new TV gig!

The co-creator and executive producer of the shows The Fosters and Good Trouble and actor who played Emmett for five seasons on Queer as Folk, has been made one of the showrunners of ABC’s popular Station 19, a Grey’s Anatomy spinoff that has just been renewed for a seventh season. He will run the show with Zoanne Clack.

“I’m beyond honored to be handed the reins to Station 19 — a show I love, full of incredible, complex characters and resonant, important stories,” Paige said in a statement to TV Line. “To get to partner with a talent like Zoanne as showrunners truly makes it all the more exciting — we share a similar vision for the show, and we’ve got some incredible twists and turns planned for the coming season. A huge thank you to the entire team at Shondaland, and everyone at ABC for their faith in us. And eternal gratitude to Krista Vernoff, for bringing me into the 19 family, and for modeling conscious leadership in such a powerful and deliberate way.”

Peter is an amazing man who over the years I have greatly admired for his accomplishments as an actor on stage and screen and who has thrived as a producer, director and writer. He’s brought so much diversity into our lives with his work which also includes the sweet 2020 film The Thing About Harry which he wrote, directed and co-starred in.

Peter was also a hard-working member of the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Board of Directors during most of the years that I worked there and he was an amazing ambassador for The Center.

Congratulations Peter!
