Saturday Sing-Off: Minnelli, Manchester, Etheridge, Tennille & more take on “Come In From the Rain”
Welcome to a new weekly feature where I pick a song of various genres and post multiple versions with the hope that readers will post in the comments which is their favorite. We kick off with the beautiful ballad Come In From The Rain written by Carole Bayer Sager and Melissa Manchester and first released in 1975. It was covered by any number of artists including particularly splendid versions by Toni Tennille and Jane Oliver, the great singer who Melissa Etheridge talks a bit about in the intro to her version. Diana Ross does a fine version but the real surpise to me is how absolutely lovely Liza Minnelli’s is.
Enjoy!
