Outrageous (and very funny) quotes from Glee’s Sue Sylvester played by future Emmy winner Jane Lynch
EW.com had the brilliant idea of compiling some of the best lines uttered so far this season by the cold and calculating cheerleading advisor Sue Sylvester on Glee.Yes, the writing is brilliant but would these lines be as delicious if they were not delivered so perfectly by the gifted out actress Jane Lynch? I’m predicting Emmy award next August.
Here are some of the 20 lines highlighted:
** ‘I’m going to ask you to smell your armpits. That’s the smell of failure, and it’s stinking up my office.”
** ‘That was the most offensive thing I’ve seen in 20 years of teaching — and that includes an elementary school production of Hair.”
** ”You’re dealing with children. They need to be terrified. It’s like mother’s milk to them.”
** ”I can’t stand the sight of kids getting emotional, unless it’s from physical exhaustion.”
** ”I am going to create an environment so toxic no one will want to be part of that club. Like the time I sold my house to a nice young couple and salted the earth in the backyard so that nothing could grow there for 100 years. Know why I did that? I hardly have time for any television anymore, but “Glee” is one show that is never missed. While the rest of the cast and most of the storylines appeal, Lynch is the standout. How ironic that you posted this on the same morning that I wondered who but Lynch could possibly win the Emmy.

I just loooove everything Jane Lynch does. There is so little quality programming on, but I make sure that I watch Glee every week & it’s not just because of the hot men. The one line that wasn’t here was when Jane spoke to two of her Cheerios & when she found out they were on the Glee squad said they were to be punished, “I’m withdrawing your tanning privileges”. Almost wet myself laughing at that one, as well as the salting because they asked her to pay their closing costs! Rock on JANE!!

oh yeah jane lynch is awesome………. but there are much more quotes over the episodes, and the best are from “Sectionals.” GLEE is awesome, especially that episode. I never thought it was possible to pee yourself once and cry three times in a single hour long TV show, but boy was i wrong. I have jane and her “why dont you put revenge on the long list of things your no good at, right next to being married, running a high school glee club, and finding a hairstyle that doesnt make you look like a lesbian” line to thank for my wet pants. Jane FTW!!!!!!!

She’s my favorite! I totally adore her character! Especially when she makes fun of Will’s hair do…I hope she wins some award or anything, she deserves it! 🙂 More power to Glee!!!! :))
