Out Olympic soccer star Megan Rapinoe to be honored at Saturday’s LA Gay & Lesbian Center gala

One event I try and never miss is the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center’s annual gala and auction.

The Center offers so much to the LGBT community from help for homeless youth to services for seniors to treatment for HIV/AIDS and scores of other programs and services.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday (Nov. 10) at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

Very excited about this year’s honoree: Olympic soccer gold medalist Megan Rapinoe—one of only 23 openly lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) athletes in the 2012 Olympic Games.

The evening will also feature a performance by Grammy winner Estelle!
