Out actor Nico Tortorella isn’t fond of ‘labels’

Nico Tortorella knows people are talking about him. – and placing labels on him.

One of the star’s of the TV Land series Younger came out in an interview with Page Six and it became big news as he became the latest young performer to declare himself to be sexually fluid.

Tortorella, 27, has made a few Instagram posts since the news broke including message which read: ‘Call me whatever you want, just call me.’

But the bulk of the post was limited to just one word and it seems to indicate that it’s a word he’s apparently not so fond of: ‘labels.’

Tortorella is currently dating a woman.

‘I’ve never been in any sort of closet … I was never really in the house. I think it’s one thing to hide … and it’s one thing to come out of the closet in a public statement. But I’ve always done me and never been shy … and have been vocal about it.’

The Page Six interview is not the first time Tortorella has addressed his sexuality publicly – it’s just the first time everybody noticed.

Earlier this month he appeared on the podcast The Drop-In with Will Malnati and said his ‘ability’ to love someone is not dependent on what is ‘between [their] legs.’
