Oscars Flashback: When past winners of Academy Awards gathered for a mega ‘family’ portrait in 1998
Still have a bit of Oscar fever and came across this stupendous reunion of past Oscar winners for acting which took place in 1998.
Cher wore a crazy hat and I loved it and the audience went wild for Shirley Temple who got the loudest applause of all the legends on that stage.
This took place 18 years ago and since then, so many of the people at this reunion have passed on to that big soundstage in the sky including some of my faves like Shelly Winters, Anne Bancroft, Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, Gregory Peck, Karl Malden, and George Kennedy who died over the weekend at the age of 91.
BONUS VIDEO: There was another reunion in 2008 when past winners were introduced by Olivia de Havilland and included three 3-tim winners: Daniel Day-Lewis, Jack Nicholson and my queen Meryl Streep.

I saw this Oscar show. I think the reason no one watches this anymore is, well, The Walking Dead, for one reason, but Hollywood is no longer elegant or glamorous. Who is left, Liz Taylor, Rock Hudson, Bogart, Bacall, Bergman, Sophia Loren, John Wayne and Clark Gable to name a few all gone or retired. No big scandals either. I saw one movie, Star Wars and fell asleep twice. Olivia De Haviland is like 99 now. I have little interest really in stars or Hollywood. maybe I am wrong, but maybe I am right.

This was a great moment, unlike any other. I loved seeing all the winners, including the lovely first back-to-back Best Actress winner, Luise Rainer.
