Orlando shooting victim Brenda Marquez McCool was the mother of 11 children

I wrote a bit about Brenda Marquez McCool earlier but now want to present to you and expanded version of her tragic story. Brenda, a mother of 11 children, is among the victims of the Orlando mass shooting.

‘She just went out last night and said goodbye to her children and to be called three hours later that she has been hit by two gunshots and later pronounced dead and to be among the killed this very day is beyond me,’ her son, Farrell Marshall, writes on a GoFundfMe page.

‘One Decision changed the lives of many.’

The son adds: ‘You will forever be in our hearts. Always. I truly love you so much MOM!’

McCool was the step-sister to actor Wilson Cruz’s mother.

Cruz posted this tribute on social media on Sunday:

‘This was the last time I saw Brenda McCool. She was with us when our grandfather passed this passed fall. She was a fighter. A cancer survivor. A stellar mother. A proud and fierce advocate for her LGBT family. She spoke passionately about how much she loved her children. She was hilarious and loving and tore up the dance floor when salsa or anything was playing. I can’t believe she’s gone. I mourn with her kids and my entire family.’

Cruz pictured with brother Joshua. also wrote: ‘The violence and hate has to end. The guns have to fucking GO! Our hearts are BROKEN!’
