Oprah will end syndicated talk show in 2011

http://bazanye.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/evil-oprah.jpgYou gotta figure that after enduring an interview with Sarah Palin last week, Oprah Winfrey just had a meltdown and finally said: “I just can’t do this damned show anymore!”

Okay, that’s a little far-fetched but I haven’t gotten in a dig at Palin in quite some time!

So Oprah really is quitting The Oprah Winfrey Show after after reaching the 25-year milestone in 2011. We’ve been through so much with her! The wagon with all the fat in it, the time she did the show from that racist town, that stupid beef trial in Texas, the workouts with Bob Greene, the cross-country trips with Gayle, Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil, hottie designer Nate Berkis, the many, many book club selections and those nauseating Oprah’s Favorite Things shows that I just could not miss.

Variety reports that Oprah broke the news to staffers at her Chicago-based Harpo production company on today and will officially announce her exit on Friday.

But she will not fade away and may even relaunch a show on cable since she is launching Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).

Personally, I’d like to see Oprah step away from the daily grind and do some acting again. She’s a wonderful actress as we saw in her Oscar-nominated turn in The Color Purple as well as the lead in Beloved and the TV movies Women of Brewster Place, Before Women Had Wings and There Are No Children Here.

Whatever she decides to do, the world is pretty much her oyster and we’ll all be watching.
