One Million Moms officially drops its campaign against JC Penney for hiring lesbian Ellen DeGeneres
The anti-gay group OneMillionMoms.com has abandoned its campaign to try and get Ellen DeGeneres fired from her job as JC Penney’s new spokesperson because she is a lesbian.
In an interview with Christian news outlet OneNewsNow.com, One Million Moms Director Monica Cole says that ‘other issues require her group’s attention, so OMM is moving on.’
The group has not been very successful in its effort lately. The campaign against Ellen resulted in an outpouring of support for the talk show host. Also, their campaign against a gay-themed issue of Life With Archie resulted in the comic book completely selling out!
But Cole believes the protest has had their desired impact saying: ‘We have heard back from so many of our members. We have heard back from men and women — not just moms — saying they will no longer shop there at JC Penney, as long as Ellen DeGeneres is their spokesperson.’

Yeah, I thought the Archie comic book selling out was great.
