“One Life to Live” preview: Gay storyline will take a violent turn for one of the characters in Llanview

Okay One Life to Live fans, if you don’t want to know about any upcoming SPOILERS, just stop reading now, scroll on down and take another look at today’s Morning Man!

I’ve been reading the Gays of Our Lives column on AfterElton.com and it’s got some scoop on what’s ahead for our favorite gay characters in Llanview and it has the storyline taking a very violent turn.

Here are the details in an excerpt from the column:

[Newly-sworn-in mayor] Dorian has sworn to make same-sex marriage legal in Llanview and plans to do so, even as she is warned by the Attorney General not to sign the initiative. Dorian being Dorian, she signs the documents anyway and is threatened with arrest. When Oliver, who is on the scene, risks his career by putting his personal beliefs first, Dorian has the gay cop’s back.

That night, Kyle and Oliver plan to attend a concert at Ultraviolet put on by the All American Rejects. Kyle eases Oliver’s anxiety about the evening ahead by telling his boyfriend that he is nervous too. The guys go to the concert, have a good time and look forward to what else the evening might bring. But it looks like fate might intercede once again.

Nick and Amelia, along with Sky and Gigi, are given a hard time by homophobes who don’t appreciate Nick’s candor about his beliefs. A scuffle breaks out and Sky is punched in the face for his trouble. Everyone winds up at the hospital with a few bumps and bruises. But all seems well and it is – for the moment. Later, however, Nick is brutally attacked and left for dead.
