Olympic legend Greg Louganis is engaged: “I finally found my soul mate”

Congratulations to Greg Louganis who announced today that he is engaged to paralegal Johnny Chaillot!

Greg, a four-time Olympic Gold Medalist in diving and a Silver Medalist at the 1976 Olympics when he was still in high school, tells People.com: “I finally met my soul mate – the more I fall in love with Johnny, the more I fall in love with myself. This is what the universe had in store for both of us.”

I had the pleasure of meeting Johnny when we ended up sitting next to each other at a Writers Guild of America LGBT event last fall that Greg was participating in.

Greg, whose memoir Breaking the Surface was made into a TV movie starring Mario Lopez several years ago, is also the subject of a feature-length documentary film, Back on Board.
