Olivia Newton-John cancels tour dates and announces breast cancer has returned and spread to her back
Olivia Newton-John has survived 25 years since her 1992 battle with breast cancer and her legions of fans are hoping she can win that battle again.
The legendary singer, 68, has announced on her Facebook page that she is postponing dates on her current US tour to receive treatment.
The breast cancer has returned and spread to her back.
‘The back pain that initially caused her to postpone the first half of her concert tour, has turned out to be breast cancer that has metastasized to the sacrum,’ read a statement on the singer’s Facebook page.
‘In addition to natural wellness therapies, Olivia will complete a short course of photon radiation therapy and is confident she will be back later in the year, better than ever, to celebrate her shows.’
She’s an enduring star whose many hits include Physical, Have You Never Been Mellow, Hopelessly Devoted to You, Xanadu, Magic, Please Mr. Please, I Honestly Love You, Let Me Be There and If You Love Me (Let Me Know), among many others.
She starred opposite John Travolta in the 1978 smash musical Grease as well as the cult classic musical Xanadu with Gene Kelly and the legendary independent film Sordid Lives.
