Novak Djokovic won his seventh Wimbledon title today and his 21st grand slam crown overall

So when is the next generation of stars going to break through? This year’s grand slam tournaments have now been divided between Rafael Nadal, 36, and Novak Djokovic, 35. They have won 22 and 21 grand slam crowns, respectively. Roger Federer, 40, has won 20 and plans to make a comeback. Since the 2005 French Open – SEVENTEEN years ago – all but 10 of the majors have been won by Nadal, Djokovic, or Federer. (For the record, Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka each won three during this time while Juan Martin Del Potro, Marin Cilic, Dominic Thiem and Daniil Medvedev have one each)
