Novak Djokovic has now won 42 matches in a row!
Yeah, I know.
Photos of Novak Djokovic in his underwear have absolutely nothing to do with his phenomenal winning streak which continued at the French Open today.
But they sure are nice to look at!
The Serbian superstar, who will become number one in the world if he reaches the final in Paris, completed a tough win over former U.S. Open champ Juan Martin del Potro in the third round of the French. The match began yesterday but was halted due to darkness fter the players split the first two sets.
After a good night’s rest, Djokovic returned and took the next two sets for a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 win.
“A mental fight,” Djokovic said of the two-day match. “It’s great to see him playing well, and I’m really happy to get this win, because it’s a big win.”
His record for 2011 is now 40-0 and his overall winning streak is at 42 because it includes the final two matches he played in 2010 which happened to be in the Davis Cup final.
“It’s the best period of my life and my tennis career,” Djokovic said. “I’ll try to keep it up.”
