No more “Muskrat Love” for the Captain & Tennille – they are getting a divorce after 39 years together

This just blows me away and upsets me way more than it should.
I just found out that the Captain & Tennille are getting a divorce!
That would be Toni Tennille and Darryl Dragon and they have been married for 39 years. For a brief time, they were known as the square Sonny and Cher and they had a bunch of big hits in the mid-1970s starting with Love Will Keep Us Together, a number one smash in 1975 that won the Grammy for Record of the Year.
Other hits that followed included Muskrat Love, Do That To Me One More Time, Shop Around, The Way That I Want to Touch You, Lonely Night and Can’t Stop Dancin’.
I interviewed the pair 7 or 8 years ago I’m guessing for a feature story I did for the LA Daily News. Toni, naturally, did most of the talking.
Toni, 73, filed for divorce on Jan. 16, in Prescott, Arizona.
“I don’t know why she filed … I gotta figure it out for myself first,” Dragon told TMZ.com, adding that the two still live together.
Daryl, 71, was a keyboard player for the Beach Boys before meeting his wife. It was revealed in 2010 that he was suffering from a neurological condition similar to Parkinsons that causes him to have tremors. This has interfered with his ability to play the keyboard.
Let’s enjoy some of the hits of Captain & Tennille on this sad day.

2201 East says:
Dragon says they will “still” live together. When someone has just filed for divorce from you, that I would say is questionable. Still sorry to hear of it.
