It’s a nightmare at Miss Universe pageant when host Steve Harvey announces wrong woman as winner

At tonight’s Miss Universe pageant, host Steve Harvey announced first runner-up Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez as the winner.

She was crowned and basked in the monent as she waved regally to the crowd looking every bit the winner.

The problem is that she did not win.

Harvey had committed the biggest mistake a host can make and announced the wrong name.

The real winner is Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach who had to take the stage and endure the awkwardness of having the crown taken off Miss Gutierrez’s head and then placed on hers.

Both ladies looked shocked and confused.

Obviously Harvey felt terrible and will probably never host another pageant again.

And if it is any consolation to Miss Gutierrez, she will probably be a lot more famous now than if she had won.

Just painful to watch!
