Neil Patrick Harris on John Barrowman: “I’ll happily stand right behind him…”

Oh, grow up! I’m talking about the escalating #biggaybattle on Twitter between supporters of Neil Patrick Harris and John Barrowman who are both vying for AfterElton’s Man of the Decade honor.

Ha! This is so fun!

Here’s the latest according to the Wall Street Journal’s Speakeasy blog: because each actor unsurprisingly has actor friends with Twitter access, various celebs are lining up behind their man, with Nathan Fillion, Alyson Hannigan and Jimmy Fallon on Team NPH and Neil Gaiman (who’s dubbed the affair #biggaybattle on Twitter),  Jonathan Ross, and other UK heavyweights behind Barrowman — not to mention U.S. director Kevin Smith, who holds a grudge against Harris for once insulting his friend, the actor Jason Mewes.

Anyway Neil himself wonders if things are getting out of hand and sent out this tweet today: Strange. Feels like this is turning adversarial. Know that I’m a fan of JB and if he wins this poll, I’ll happily stand right behind him…

All kidding aside, both men would be amazing choices and are well-deserving for their professional accomplishments, their wonderful spirit and wit, and their comfort with their personal lives.
