Neil Patrick Harris and Kelly Ripa talk about how they pulled off David Burtka’s surprise birthday party
Neil Patrick Harris guest hosted on Regis & Kelly this morning and, as always, he and Kelly Ripa were just a delight together.
It’s clear that by this time, they have become great friends with Kelly and her husband, actor Mark Consuelos, helping Neil pull off last month’s surprise party for his better half, David Burtka.
Neil and David went to dinner with Kelly and Mark before the party with David completely unaware that there was carefully planned party waiting for him at a nearby Manhattan restaurant (the original location was to be the rooftop terrace of Mark and Kelly’s apartment but rain was forecast).
Kelly was a nervous wreck that she would blow the surprise: “I lost three pounds of sweat during the dinner,” she said.

I just loved it , it was a great show. And you could see body language too Neil that he was still so proud that he managed too pull it off.He could not sit still on his chair.

You’re right, they have a great chemistry together.
If HIMYM ever goes off the air and Reege should retire, then NPH (and I got a kick out of Kelly calling him NPH, just like we do on facebook whenever he’s on anything!) should totally co-host this show regularly with her.
