Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka urge people to make donations to L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center
On the night last month that Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka were honored by the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center, they made this adorable Public Service Announcement to raise money for the center.
Executive Director Lorri L. Jean says the center is trying to raise $100,000 this holiday season specifically for services for homeless youth.
“For these brave and struggling youth, the only gift that matters this holiday season is the gift of acceptance. They find that at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center. For many LGBT teens that have run away or been kicked out of their home, we’re the only family they have.”
Jean says that during the coming winter months, The Center faces a rising demand for services from homeless LGBT youth which includes providing safe shelter, warm meals, medical services, counseling and much more to the growing number of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth who will turn to The Center in the next few months.
