Nate Berkus will have own daytime show
Like Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz before him, Nate Berkus is the latest Oprah Winfrey protege to get his own syndicated show.
The best part is that he’s the first openly gay man in the bunch!
The Nate Berkus Show will debut in first-run syndication in the fall according to an announcement made today by Sheri Salata and Erik Logan, presidents of Winfrey’s Harpo Productions.
“We are pleased to partner with NBC stations to launch ‘The Nate Berkus Show,'” Logan said in a statement. “Combined with Harpo’s legacy of success in daytime, and our strong partnership with Sony, NBC’s commitment and support offers the perfect platform to launch syndication’s next breakout series.”
Nate is a designer who has been a regular on Oprah’s show for several years giving design advice to viewers. His partner was killed in Sri Lanka when the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami hit. He is currently in a relationship with shoe designer Brian Atwood.

‘Whiskey Tango Foxtrot’ Can someone please explain the ‘Berkus Phenomenon’ to me? I’ve looked through his design book, and I was not impressed, well it’s at least not my taste. He’s okay looking, and sure he’s gay, but so… Why are people so gaga for him? Does he have beer flavored nipples, or something?
