‘Nashville’ will have a season 5 – on CMT & Hulu!

Nashville and Will Lexington live! Hooray!

The country music drama, canceled after four seasons by ABC, will return for a fifth season of 22 episodes and air on the cable network CMT then stream on Hulu.

The official announcement is expected to be made later today.

Among the popular storylines on the show are that of gay country music singer Lexington (Chris Carmack) who has had an emotional and dramatic journey out of the closet during the show’s run.

Lexington struggled to reconcile his ambition with his sexuality. He entered a sham marriage with a woman and even starred with her in a reality TV series.

But he later fell in love with his songwriting partner Kevin Bick (Kyle Dean Massey) and came to terms with being gay. As the fourth season came to a close, an out and proud Lexington was dealing with bigotry within the music industry.
