My photos of Lifeworks’ Live Out Loud event
Okay, since the Lifeworks Mentoring Living Out Loud event was three days ago, I promise this is my last post from it! I’ve already posted about honoree Dustin Lance Black’s terrific speech and about Lifeworks merging with the LA Gay & Lesbian Center next month.
So now, it’s all about the pictures so here are my personal snapshots. Above is Lance getting a congratulatory hug from Lifeworks co-founder and Executive Director Michael Ferrera.
Lance chatted with actress Donna Mills, still gorgeous after all these years. Who can forget what wicked fun she was as Abby on Knots Landing?
Ferrera with his husband, Gregg Boyd, and four-time Olympic Gold Medalist Greg Louganis.
I knew producer Dan Jinks is an attractive guy but he was just an absolute hottie in those jeans and that shirt. He introduced Lance who wrote Milk, the film produced by Jinks and partner Bruce Cohen.
Hunky John Wesley Shipp, best known for his role as the dad on Dawson’s Creek and stints on several daytime soaps, with Michael Ferrera.
Quite an impressive trio: LA Gay & Lesbian Center CEO Lorri L. Jean and her wife, Gina Calvelli as well as Judy Shepard, a tireless activist for federal hate crime legislation since the death of her son, Matthew.
That’s me with Michael Ferrera, someone who I think is a terrific guy and friend.
Scott Genkinger, who just completed the AIDSCycle ride 10m days ago, is here with my pal Jim Key, head of communications for the LA Gay & Lesbian Center.
These good looking guys are Jonathan Aubry, vice president of marketing for Regent Releasing and Jon Barret, editor of The Advocate and Advocate.com.
Here is Greg Louganis and his boyfriend Daniel McSwiney. Greg told me he is heavily involved with dog shows and recently judged the surf dog event at the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge in San Diego. This is one of his three main passions right now: “That, my boyfriend and acting.” His most recent film role was in the indie flick Watercolors.”Things have been going great, really very positive,” he said. “I’m just looking for other new adventures.”
Here is television journalist Derrick Shore, a wonderful person and friend.
Donna Mills again. This time with her lovely daughter Chloe.
