My chat with “Star Trek” icon George Takei about the Sochi Olympics and Russia’s anti-gay Putin

Got to chat with George Takei recently and the first thing I asked him about was his comments about Ryan Gosling being boring.

I’m going to save his answer on that for tomorrow because it’s silly in light of the rest of our interview which was about the Olympics and Russia.

George had some choice things to say about Russian President Vladimir Putin who championed an anti-gay propaganda law that has cast a shadow over the games in Sochi.

‘This Olympics is really a chilling thing because it reminds me of the 1936 Olympics when the Olympics Committee provided an international platform for Adolf Hitler. And the people said, ‘It can’t be that bad.’
