My chat with Shane Bitney Crone of “Bridegroom”

I saw a lot of Shane Bitney Crone last weekend both at Outfest and at a GLAAD event and the more I get to know him, the more impressed I am.

We first met back at the GLAAD Media Awards in April and then I just wanted to hug him for all he had been through – an ordeal told in his YouTube video It Could Happen to You and now in the documentary Bridegroom which won the Audience Award for documentary at Outfest on Sunday.

Shane is so thoughtful when he speaks and the making of and success of the film has turned this quiet-spoken young man into quite an articulate and powerful activist.
