My chat with Michael Fassbender …
So I arrived at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills today to cover the BAFTA-LA Tea Party with pretty low expectations.
I was thinking, “The A-list stars will probably breeze on by and I’ll be lucky to get a word with a screenwriter or a composer!”
But the first star down the carpet was a big one – Michael Fassbender – and he made time to talk to every single reporter on the carpet.
He was relaxed, his publicist was relaxed, and it was just a model on how well these things can go. We each only got 2-3 questions in but it was preferable to stars who do 2-3 TV interviews then just breeze by.
Fassbender, a multiple award nominee for 12 Years a Slave, was lovely and present and made a most excellent impression.
I asked him about taking on a gay role and for his thoughts on gay marriage. To see what he said, see my story posted over at Gay Star News.

Just a bit envious!! I agree that Michael is a truly cool guy. I would love to be up close to some of these wonderful stars.

Okay, so I’m dating myself, but that man takes my breath away! And Joe might be a *bit* envious, Greg, but color me green! We’ll now, back to St. Olaf!
