Must See Video: Bullied boy named Jonah pours heart out in self-made video called “What’s Going On”

HEARTBREAKING: His name is Jonah and he’s in eighth grade. He’s been bullied since the first grade and been cutting himself since the second grade.

He’s made a video that is catching the attention of people today, including Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black who wrote in his blog a supportive message to Jonah: You’re a magnificent creature, a beautiful soul and we need you in this world. I know I’m not alone in sending you my love and appreciation tonight.

It’s hard not to shed tears along with Jonah as he holds up a series of cards that express how he feels about being bullied and called names like Gay. Fag. Douche. Homo. Asshole.

A lot of people hate me.

I don’t know why.

But I guess I kind of do

Because I kinda hate me too.

But Jonah is determined not to be a victim:

I’m tired of [being] torn down.

And building myself up to only be torn down again.

But I’m not going anywhere.

Because I’m stronger than that.

And I have a million reasons to be here.

Here is the video:

    Richard Hohimer says:

My heart goes out to you, young Jonah. I, too, was bullied in grade school by my classmates (I refuse to call them “friends”). I found the wisdom to change from within from the story of King Solomon in the Bible. Learned to use logic from the library, and stand up for myself without fighting. My classmates werent’t the only “bullies” I had to contend with. You are suffering now, but you are gaining an inner strength that your bullies don’t have and don’t understand. Consider each hurtful name thrown at you as a grain of ground. He who throws mud looses ground. He who is hit by mud GAINS ground.
Find me on Facebook and “Friend me”. I’ll share my experience with you.
