Multi-talented “One Life to Live” alum Nicholas Rodriguez releases new album “The First Time”
Very excited to share that the very talented Nicholas Rodriguez has a new album out called The First Time … that I hope is a big success for him.
Nicholas is a stage veteran with many credits, including the Broadway production of Tarzan, who I became a fan of during his run on the ABC soap One Life to Live. He played the role of Nick Chavez who for a time was part of a gay love triangle also involving the characters of Oliver Fish and Kyle Lewis.
In his debut solo album, Nicholas fuses his love of theatre with the music of jazz, blues, folk and pop for a collection that is a mix of Broadway and pop tunes.
He tackles songs by Stephen Sondheim (a rare male recording of the Oscar-winner Sooner or Later), Frank Loesser (a reinvented I’ve Never Been in Love Before ) and Rodgers & Hammerstein (Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’) alongside pop hits like Joni Mitchell’s A Case of You and Sara Bareilles’ Brave.
He also fuses the worlds of Broadway and pop with Phil Collins’ You’ll Be in My Heart from Tarzan.
portion of the proceeds from the album which will go to benefit the Broadway Dreams Foundation where Rodriguez is the artistic director.
