MTV Movie Awards: Jim Carrey wants overturn of Prop. 8; Sacha Baron Cohen lands on Eminem
A lot of people are complaining online about the quality of the show and some of the winners. But the one moment the Twitterati is buzzing about right now that I care about is Jim Carrey who had the presence of mind to say on national television: “Someone please overturn Prop. 8!” Carrey won for best comedic performance for Yes Man!
Twilight dominated, winning for best picture and in four other categories including best breakthrough male performance and best female performances for stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart who also won for best kiss. I was hoping one of the gay kisses would win since among the nominees were Sean Penn and James Franco from Milk and Paul Rudd and Thomas Lennon from I Love You, Man.
BTW, Zac Efron (pictured above with Jim Carrey) won for best male performance for High School Musical 3 and Ashley Tisdale won for best breakthrough female for the same film.
Cohen replied: “Nice to meet you.”
Don’t know if Eminem was in on the joke, don’t really care.
Below are some pics of beautiful people: Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds; Robert Pattinson and Cam Gigadet; and Kiefer Sutherland, Ben Stiller and Zac Efron.
