Lt. Colonel Victor Fehrenbach on life after coming out as gay in the military
Rachel Maddow gives us a terrific update on Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell before she welcomed back Lt. Colonel Victor Fehrenbach who came out last month and has a hearing in the fall.
“Surprisingly, there’s been absolutely no change at work,” he said of the past month. “It just shows that this policy is antiquated and it needs to go.”
Fehrenbach continues to serve in the military without incident and, in fact, will be at The White House on Monday at an event for LGBT leaders marking the 40th anniversary of Stonewall. He said he’d love to get in a word with his Commander In Chief who has the power to suspend this discriminatory policy against gays and lesbians in the military.
