Morning Man Encore: Roger Federer!

Originally posted May 20, 2009 (Morning Man Classic will return next Sunday!)
Tennis champ Roger Federer will be battling to win his first French Open title. If the elegant Swiss player succeeds, it will solidify his place as the greatest male player of all time. He’s already won everything there is to win: 5 Wimbledons, 5 US Opens, 3 Australian Opens, the Olympic Gold Medal in doubles, scores of other tournaments and been ranked number one for more consecutive weeks than anyone who has ever played the game.
He’s now ranked number two behind his archrival Rafael Nadal who has slowed his march to tying Pete Sampras’ record of 14 grand slam wins ()Federer has 13). But Federer beat Nadal on Sunday in Madrid – a very big deal as he tries to stop the Spaniard from winning a fifth consecutive French Open.
I wish Roger all the luck in the world in his continued quest for tennis immortality. My great pal Henry, the biggest Federer fan I know, will be dancing all over his London flat if Roger wins in Paris. It would be a perfect belated birthday gift for Henry, who turns another year older TODAY!!!
Happy Birthday Henry!
