Morning Man Encore: Matthew McConaughey!

Since Matthew McConaughey is probably going to win the best actor Oscar this year for Dallas Buyers Club, his reputation as a serious actor will be cemented forever.

But let’s not forget that the man is an absolute hunk and one of the most gorgeous creatures to ever grace the big screen.

I’ll never forget when I first saw him in Boys on the Side as Drew Barrymore’s dumb cop boyfriend then when he starred in A Time to Kill and did that Vanity Fair cover, I was lost to him forever.

Since then, it’s been fun to see him shirtless in such flicks as Failure to Launch, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and that awful Surfer Dude.

But Matthew showed us he can be hunky and an awesome actor in Magic Mike as well as his recent string of well-received indie films like Killer Joe and Mud.

Anyway, he turns 44 today and while I miss the days when there were a steady stream of paparazzi shots of him jogging around Malibu without a shirt, I’m happy for his current wave of acclaim.
