Outfest is always such a great place to discover talent and new Morning Men so I present to you Matthew Camp, one of the stars of the The Go Doc Project which was one of my favorite movies of the festival.

Matthew plays a NYC Go-Go Boy who is the object of a college student’s lust and he agrees to be the subject of the guy’s documentary. It’s not much of a stretch since Matthew has been one of the city’s most successful dancers.

So what makes Matthew stand out from the dime a dozen Go-Go Boy crowd?

He’s also a talented artist and fashion designer (see matthewcampdesigns.com) whose work appears on T-shirts and leather and, of course, as tattoos. He also has his own signature fragrance, called 8.5.

“I started making clothing because I couldn’t find what I wanted on the market. And I’m sure a lot of my customers feel the same way, their fashion needs are not being met by what’s currently available. The line is sleek, primitive and futuristic at the same time. I like to avoid trends and make the images that I dream about,” he told The Huffington Post earlier this year.

After seeing him in the fictional but documentary-style film, I think it’s that he has the “it factor.” He’s got intelligence and low-key charisma that make you want to see more of him on the screen.

But will this man of many talents return to the screen?

He said in the same interview about acting: “It’s like when you start to date someone for the first time. You like the experience, but they start to monopolize your time.”

But of doing more of it he said: “I’d love to. Overall it was a very interesting process.”
