Morning Man Encore: Idris Elba!

Just saw Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom which I am certain will earn Idris Elba an Oscar nomination for best actor. So it’s a perfect time to run an encore of his Morning Man posting from August 9, 2010
One of the TV series previewed over the weekend by BBC America at the TV Critics Assn. Summer Press Tour was Luther starring the way sexy British actor Idris Elba.
Fans of HBO’s The Wire are already familiar with the handsome 37 year old who played Russell “Stringer” Bell, the drug dealer who aspired to become a high powered businessman.
Idris has been much in demand playing playing Charles Miner in six episodes of NBC’s The Office last year and starring in the feature film thriller Takers.
His early roles were on British television but by 2000, he was in demand on both sides of the pond.
He played the role of Captain Augustin Muganza in Sometimes in April, an HBO film about the Rwandan Genocide and appeared in the role of Charlie Kgotso in the series The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency which may return as a pair of TV movies.
Recent feature film roles include Prom Night, RocknRolla, The Unborn and Obsessed.
Idris was featured as one of the “Ten Hottest Men on the Planet” in the April 2004 issue of Essencemagazine and again in the November 2005 issue and was chosen as one of People Magazine’s annual “100 Most Beautiful People in the World, in May 2007.”
