What I wanna know is this: How is Enrique Iglesias not voted the sexiest man alive, like, every year?

The Spanish singing star has succeeding in crossing over from Spanish-language musical success to English-language stardom as well as anyone ever has – including the Ricky Martin dude.

In fact, Enrique recently released separate greatest hits albums: one Spanish hits, the other the English chart-toppers.

He’s the son of Julio Iglesias but landed his first recording contract under a different name – and without the knowledge of his famous dad.

Enrique has been involved with former Russian tennis star Anna Kournikova for seven years but he has proven to be very gay-friendly.

At a concert at London’s G-A-Y nightclub a few years back, he sang his love song Hero to a gay fan, serenading the guy who he had picked out of the audience at random (pictured below). The singer said he was surprised it turned out to be such a big deal.

“It wasn’t so much going after the gay fans,” he later told the gay site HX. “I just like doing stuff that’s different. In my career I don’t want to do the same thing all the time and bore myself. What really drew my attention was that the owner said, “Look, this is the biggest gay club in London, and you’re going to see one of the best crowds you’ve ever seen in your whole life.” And that made me really, really want to do it. I didn’t care if it was gay or straight. It was about playing in front of a great crowd. When I got on top of the stage and started to sing, I’m telling you, the guy was completely right. They were singing so loud, the next day my left ear, where I had my ear monitor, was ringing so much. It was absolutely crazy.

He also told HX that gay rumors about himself don’t bother him: “I don’t give a shit. I’ve never cared about the gay rumor. It’s so stupid. It’s funny because people are always infatuated with that. A lot of the guys that say that are the typical guys that are insecure with themselves. I’ve heard so many rumors about so many people being gay that it’s ridiculous. I’ve sure you’ve heard a million.”
