Morning Man Classic: Vince Edwards!
Hubba, hubba!
Vince Edwards was an American actor, director, and singer, best known for the roles of TV doctor Ben Casey and Maj. Cliff Bricker in the 1968 war film The Devil’s Brigade.
During the height of his television stardom (Ben Casey ran from 1961-66), Edwards also released a series of albums which made the top 20 on the Billboard charts.
A little background on Edwards who died in 1996: He was a swimming champion in high school, attended Ohio State University on an athletic scholarship, and was on their National Championship swimming team. Olympics were on the horizon, but an appendicitis operation cut short his swimming career. He studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and then became a contract actor at Paramount Pictures in the early 1950s.

David says:
and in 1996 when he died, did he leave a lover or a wife and children, or both?
Mike says:
Yummy for real, just a shame that so few on TV or in movies are as manly tody as he was back in the day.
Brian says:
Greg, excellent post and photos. Do you own or have you seen early-60s photo of Vince doing a handstand with impeccable form? I’m desperately seeking a scannable copy from a print or magazine page. Thanks and blessings.
Brian says:
Is there still a Vincent Edwards fan club, though he passed on nearly 20 years ago?
