Morning Man Classic: Tim Matheson!
My longtime crush Tim Matheson turns 75 today.
I’m old enough to remember Tim when he co-starred opposite Kurt Russell in the 1976 TV series The Quest.
It lasted just 16 episodes but long enough for Tim to participate in Battle of the Network Stars and long enough for me to develop a big crush on him.
By that time, Tim had been acting professionally for more than a decade. At 13, he played Robert Young’s son on the comedy series Window on Main Street, starred in the original version of Yours Mine and Ours with Henry Fonda and Lucille Ball and joined the cast of the series The Virginian in 1969.
His stardom hit a new level in 1978 as one of the stars of the comedy Animal House then teamed up with John Belushi again in the film 1941.
Tim has worked non-stop more than 100 television and film credits including the role of the vice president of the US on The West Wing, that of Ryan Reynolds’ father in Van Wilder , Dr. Brick Breeland on The CW series Heart of Dixie and a recurring role on The Good Fight as Tully Nelson..
