Morning Man Classic: Sam Waterston!

The great Sam Waterston, starring again on Law & Order on NBC, will celebrate his 82nd birthday later this week. He also starred for seven seasons on the delicious comedy Grace & Frankie.
They are the latest successes for this gifted actor who was nominated for an Academy Award for The Killing Fields, a Tony Award for Abe Lincoln in Illinois and seven Emmy Awards for his performances in Law & Order, I’ll Fly Away, and the TV film The Glass Menagerie. His single Emmy win is as a producer of the informational series Lost Civilizations. He was a Golden Globe Award for I’ll Fly Away and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Law & Order.
Other memorable roles include Charlie Skinner in The Newsroom, Dennis Shepard in The Matthew Shepard Story, Kathleen Turner’s husband in Serial Mom, and Abraham Lincoln in the miniseries Lincoln. His other films include Capricorn One, Heaven’s Gate, Just Between Friends, Finnegan Begin Again, Nixon, and On the Basis of Sex, among others.
