Morning Man Classic: Robert Conrad!

Sad news to report: Robert Conrad has died at age 84.
He has been featured as a Morning Man Classic several times on the blog over the years and this always leads to several readers recalling how he was one of their first-ever crushes.
Easy to see why!
“He lived a wonderfully long life and while the family is saddened by his passing, he will live forever in their hearts,” family spokesman Jeff Ballard said in a statement to People.com.
Conrad was quite the beefcake when he starred in the hit shows Hawaiian Eye and Wild, Wild West in the 1960s.
By the 70s, he had developed a tough guy persona that he exploited in a series of popular commercials for Everready Batteries. He also starred in the hit show Black Sheep Squadron in the mid-70s and was the leader of the NBC team in the then-popular Battle of the Network Stars competitions.
Conrad more recently hosted a weekly radio show and more than a decade ago ran for the presidency of the Screen Actors Guild but lost.
