Morning Man Classic: Kris Kristofferson!

So sad to learn that Kris Kristofferson, the great songwriter and very sexy movie star, has died at the age of 88.

Kristofferson was sexy and wonderful in the role of John Norman Howard in the 1976 version A Star is Bornopposite Barbra Streisand. The movie came at a time when he had branched out from being a successful singer-songwriter (Me and Bobby McGee, Help Me Make it Through the Night) to actor.

His other movies included Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, Blume in Love, Heaven’s Gate, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, Hanover Street, Semi-Tough, the Blade trilogy, Lonestar, Payback, and Joyful Noise with Dolly Parton.

In 1985, Kristofferson joined fellow country artists Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash in forming the country music supergroup The Highwaymen and in 2004, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

He is the father of eight children including five with his last wife Lisa who is now his widow. His second wife was singer Rita Coolidge with whom he has a daughter.
