Morning Man Classic: Kris Kristofferson!

It’s hard to believe that singer-actor Kris Kristofferson turned 88 earlier this week.

When I saw the most vividly from the 1976 remake of A Star is Born opposite Barbra Streisand. He was sexy and wonderful in the role of John Norman Howard and the movie came at a time when he had branched out from being a successful singer-songwriter (Me and Bobby McGee, Help Me Make it Through the Night) to actor.

His other movies included Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, Blume in Love, Heaven’s Gate, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, Hanover Street, Semi-Tough, the Blade trilogy, Lonestar, Payback, and more recently Joyful Noise with Dolly Parton.

In 1985, Kristofferson joined fellow country artists Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash in forming the country music supergroup The Highwaymen and in 2004, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

He is the father of eight children including five with current wife Lisa. His second wife was singer Rita Coolidge with whom he has a daughter.
