Morning Man Classic: Joseph Bottoms!

It turns out retired actor Joseph Bottoms and I have the same birthday.

And since I’m not going to feature myself as Morning Man, thought I’d offer up Bottoms who turns 66 today.

He’s from an acting family (his brother is Timothy Bottoms) and won the 1975 Golden Globe Award for New Star Of The Year for his role in The Dove. He is also known for his roles in the television mini-series Holocaust and Disney’s The Black Hole. He also starred opposite Elizabeth Taylor in the 1978 TV m movie Return Engagement.

Bottom made his Broadway debut in Fifth of July in 1981 and between 1985-1987, he was a series regular on the soap opera, Santa Barbara.

In 1990 he began a guest arc on the Canadian television series, Street Legal and in 1991, he began playing Cal Winters on Days of Our Lives. In 1998, he was a series regular in The Net.

His most recent screen appearance was in 1999 in the series, V.I.P.

Bottoms has left acting behind and has been running the Bottoms Art Galleries in Santa Barbara that also includes his father’s sculptures.

5 Remarks

  1. Well, Happy Birthday to you… and Joseph!
I recall reading ET liked Joe so much she tried to fix him up with daughter Liza! I wrote a review of Taylor’s roles in ‘Return Engagement’ and ‘Between Friends,’ where she also made friends with Carol Burnett. Cheers, Rick

My favorite magazine of all time, especially the black and white issues. This, however, was my favorite issue and cover- Joseph never looked handsomer or sexier.
